We try to look at every horse in the book at the sales, which gives us a large pool of horses to ascertain which first-season sires have strong progeny. In Book 2 at Magic Millions the best of these was Acrobat, and this was his nicest horse.
He was ultra-professional on inspection. He has great presence and is a beautifully strong, correct and athletic type with a kind eye.
He looked the type of horse who will take training in his stride and should perform well at 2-years-old and beyond.
We feel we have huge amount of horse here for just $20,000!
He was incredibly easy to break in and showed us what a great brain he has.
He is now enjoying a spell before we look to teach him a bit more in his second preparation.

This colt looks just like his sire: big, strong, and a little bit flashy! He has lots of bone and marched around the sales with great confidence and physicality.
Bloodstock agent Jamie Piggott was equally impressed and has taken a share in the horse. We both had him as our top horse in Book 2 at Magic Millions - colt or filly!
On type, he looks more mature than most of his generation already and should be able to perform well at 2-years-old before improving into an even better 3-year-old given his size and progressive nature of his sire’s progeny.
We expected to pay $100k-120k, so when he was knocked down for just $35,000 we new we’d stolen him!
He was a breeze to break in and is now enjoying a spell before we look to teach him a bit more in his second preparation.

This filly steps out of the box and makes you go “WOW!” She is physically imposing, strong bodied, has a great depth of girth and a powerhouse of a back end on her! She walked well and with great confidence at the sales, and has a boss like nature.
She is out of a half sister to Group 1 winning sire, Your Song, we felt she was a bargain buy when securing her for just $50,000 + gst.
We feel this filly can excel as a back-end 2 year-old, and also have the strength to go on with the job at 3 years and older.
She has progressed well in the past year. She gives us an x-factor feel in her gallops and has gained some valuable jump-out experience.
We look forward to her hitting the racetrack in the next few months. She also has the option of returning to the Gold Coast each year for the Magic Millions race series, for which she has been nominated.
This filly really embodies why we try to look at every horse in a sale. On inspection, Jack noted “Strong, Balanced, Confident, Solid, Walks well, Fast, Plenty of bone. Good depth of hip, Forward going... Big Like!”
As a type, she looks like the Zoustars and Exceed And Excels of the world - strong and fast. She gave us every reason to bid on her with confidence and looked super value when knocked down for just $35,000 + gst.
She has progressed well in the year that has ensued and is well experienced at the jump-outs now. We look forward to her hitting the racetrack as a back end 2yo. She also has the option of returning to the Gold Coast each year for the Magic Millions race series, for which she has been nominated.
This colt really spoke to Jack at the sales! He has a lovely loose action and is beautifully put together with great strength, angles, and temperament. He really showed himself off and quickly became our favourite horse of the sale!
He is out of a 3-time winner over a mile+ and from a family Jack is familiar with having ridden the dam’s half-sister, who was multiple stakes places and finished 4th in the QLD Oaks.
It is one of the best NZ families that is steeped in top level performers including Smiling Like, the Champion Stayer in NZ.
Peltzer was fastest, highest-rated and most precocious two-year-old by So You Think. An undefeated 2yo in 3 starts, he continued to yo progress at 3 winning from 1200-1600m in the G2 Stan Fox, the $1m Bondi and the G3 Eskimo Prince.
This horse proved to be a fast learner and was jumping out in by October. However, he proved to be quite horny and in need of gelding. This waywardness did cause him to pick up a minor injury, from which he re-habbed well.
Given most of his pedigree excel over a little more ground, and particularly given his style and physique, we believe we’ll see the best of him at 3 years old, targeting the classic distances of 1500m+… Guineas and Derbys all things being well! He is also nominated for the lucrative Inglis Race series.
